Productions issued State Parks a check (number 0505078) for $750.00. The production schedule <br /> was May 29-31. The fee was $750.00. <br /> 26. <br /> On June 1, 2017, Minim Louisiana Productions issued Mr. Schick a check for$800.00. <br /> 27. <br /> Between 2015 and his termination date with the Office of State Parks on November 11, <br /> 2017, Arthur Schick improperly received a total of$12,100 from various production companies <br /> in derogation of the provisions of the Code of Governmental Ethics. <br /> Laws <br /> 28. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1111A(1)(a)provides with respect to payment not duly entitled to receive: <br /> A. (1)(a) No public servant shall receive anything of economic value, other <br /> than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly <br /> entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or <br /> position. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1111C(1)(a) provides with respect to payments from nonpublic sources: <br /> C. (1)(a) no public servant shall receive any thing of economic value for any <br /> service, the subject matter of which is devoted substantially to the responsibilities, <br /> programs, or operations of the agency of the public servant and in which the <br /> public servant has participated. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d) provides with respect to payments from nonpublic sources: <br /> C.(2) No public servant and no legal entity in which the public servant exercises <br /> control or owns an interest in excess of twenty-five percent, shall receive any <br /> thing of economic value for or in consideration of services rendered, or to be <br /> rendered,to or for any person during his public service unless such services are: <br /> (d)Neither performed for nor compensated by any person from whom such public <br /> servant would be prohibited by R.S. 42:1115(A)(1) or(B) from receiving a gift. <br /> Page 8 of 11 <br />
