Reeves, Jr. serving as the Lead <br /> Trial Attorney. <br /> III <br /> ALLE A.T IO <br /> The Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners ("LSBOE") was created pursuant to <br /> La. R.S. 37:1041 et seq. The L BOE was established within the Louisiana Department of Health <br /> to relate the practice of optometry in the State of Louisiana.The L BOE consists of six members <br /> appointed by the governor of the State of Louisiana,pursuant to La. 1 R.S. 37:1042A. The L BOE <br /> members clect the Secretary-Treasurer of L BOE from among their tTievabers,pursuant to La. R.S. <br /> 7:I04A. <br /> . <br /> Dr. Gerald Gerdes was appointed by Governor John Bet Edwards as a member of the <br /> L BOE on November 20, 2020. Dr. Gerdes was elected president of the LEGE by the other <br /> L BOE members on July 15, 2023. Dr. Gerdes is still currently serving as a member of the <br /> L BOE, and has been a member of the L BOE at all times pertinent herein. <br /> As a member and president of the L B E, Dr. Gerdes is a"Public servant" as defined by <br /> Section 110 (19) of the Ethics Code, and the L BOE Is his "agency" as defined by Section <br /> 11 0 ( )(a (i) of the Ethics Code. <br /> 4. <br /> Optometry Association of Louisiana ("OAL") is a Louisiana non-profit corporation <br />
