Ethic�� Board Docket No. 2021-701 <br /> F'age 7 of 13 <br /> the Board of Aldermen for the Town of Cullen. Section 1119B of the Ethics Code prohibits <br /> i:r�mediate far.lily members of Darryl Ford from being employed by the Town while Darryl Ford <br /> ser��es on the Board of Alderman for the Town. <br /> Terry �-�oof, Denise Epps-Hoof, and Floydean White approved the hiring of Tameka Ford <br /> ir�vic�lation of'Section 1119B of the Ethics Code after being informed that such hiring would be a <br /> violation of law. <br /> If this matter proceeded to a public hearing before the Ethics Adjudicatory Board, and the <br /> F,th:cs Adjudicatory Board found a violation of the Ethics Code, the Ethics Adjudicatory Board <br /> could impose a fine of up to $10,000 for each violation of the Ethics Code, pursuant to Section <br /> 1153� of trie Ethics Code. I�z this particular situation, it is the conclusion of the Board that the <br /> ir.:terest of the public would be served by, and the parties have agreed to resolving this matter <br /> amicably through the publication of this Consent Opinion with the imposition of a $750 civil <br /> penalty against Terry Hoof and the imposition of a$250 civil penalty against each of Denise Epps- <br /> Hoc,f;, and Flo��dean White. <br /> VI. <br /> ORDER: <br /> For the fore�aing reasons: <br /> IT IS ORDERED that Terry Hoof, in his capacity as Mayor, Town of Cullen, Webster <br /> Par;sh, and Denise Epps-Hoof, and Floydean White, in their capacities as Aldermen, Town of <br /> Cullen, 'Webs�er Parish, violated Section ll 19D of the Ethics Code by virtue of hiring Tameka <br /> F���r�i as the T�wn Clerk when they knew Tameka Ford was the wife of Alderman Darryl Ford, <br /> which was prohibited by La. R.S. 42:1119B. <br />
