Tusa, Jr. <br /> 4080 Lonesome Road, Suite A <br /> Mandeville, Louisiana 70448 <br /> Re; Ethics Board Docket No. 20U445 <br /> Dear Mr. Tose: <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics,at its noun 16, 2017 Board meeting,considered your request for an <br /> advisory opinion on behalf of the Marrcro-Ragusa Volunteer Fire Department (Fire Department) <br /> regarding whether the Fire Department may hire Mark Martins a paid administrative employee of <br /> the Fire Department. Mark Martin has served as a board member of the Marrero-Ragusa Volunteer <br /> Fire Board since 1988. He is interested in the part-time paid administrative position that has become <br /> available_ In order to fill this position, he would resign Porn the Marrero-Ragusa Volunteer Fire <br /> Board. <br /> The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you, that the Louisiana Code of Governmental <br /> Ethics would prohibit Marx Martin from being employed by the Marrero-Ragusa Volunteer Fire <br /> Board for two years after he resigns from the Marrero-Ragusa Volunteer Fire Board. La. R.S. <br /> 42:1121A(2) provides that no tom=member of a board or commission shall,for a period of two <br /> years following the termination of his public service on such board or commission. contract with, <br /> be employed in any capacity by,or be appointed to any position by that board or commission.
