You stated that from November 30,2015 until December <br /> 15,2017 you were employed as the Assistant Director of ITC and that your job duties entailed your <br /> assisting the Director of ITC in managing,encouraging,and supporting the development,disclosure, <br /> and protection of institutional inventions and intellectual property. You stated that you reported to <br /> the Assistant Vice President for Research-Technology Transfer and the Director of ITC and that your <br /> role was broadly described as protecting intellectual property and seeking parties to license those <br /> intellectual property rights. You stated that you are interested in consulting and/or teaching for other <br /> colleges and departments within the LSU system,such as the College of Engineering or the College <br /> of Business. You further stated that you would like to provide consulting services to companies that <br /> interacted with ITC while you were so employed there. That your services would be limited to <br /> commercialization activities such as business and strategic planning, fund raising, customer <br /> development,product development,prototyping,manufacturing and distribution. Specifically,you <br /> would exclude providing any assistance on the management of any intellectual property and any <br /> agreements that you may have participated in while at ITC. <br /> The Board concluded and instructed me to inform you as to consulting and/or teaching for other <br /> colleges or departments within the LSU system, that the Louisiana Code of Governmental Ethics <br /> (Code) would not prohibit you. La. R.S. 42:1121B(1) prohibits a former public employee, for a <br /> period of two years following termination of his public employment,from assisting another person, <br /> for compensation, in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction in which <br /> such former public employee participated at any time during his public employment and involving <br /> the governmental entity by which he was formerly employed,or for a period of two years following <br /> termination of his public employment, render any service which such former public employee had <br /> rendered to the agency during the term of his public employment on a contractual basis,regardless <br /> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br />
