You stated that the East Baton <br /> Rouge.Parish School Board has a contract with City Year by which City Year places AmeriCorps <br /> members in schools under the purview of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board to act as <br /> tutors,mentors,and role models,with the aim of helping students stay on track for graduation. The <br /> EBR School Board pays City Year a fee for these services, as well as provides training to the <br /> AmeriCorps members. <br /> You stated that Mr. Howard manages the AmeriCorps members and develops relationships with <br /> principals and teachers to ensure optimal conditions for the members at their respective schools. Mr. <br /> Howard is also tasked with ongoing performance management, which includes tracking student <br /> progress and ensuring that certain program goals are met. Mr. Howard is a salaried employee and <br /> does not hold any interest in the company.Mr.Howard is not an officer,director,trusteee,or partner <br /> of City Year. <br /> LAW <br /> La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d) provides that no public servant and no legal entity in which the public <br /> servant exercises control or owns an interest in excess of twenty-five percent,shall receive any thing <br /> of economic value for or in consideration of services rendered,or to be rendered,to or for any person <br /> during his public service unless such services are:(d)Neither performed for nor compensated by any <br /> person or from any officer,director,agent,or employee of such person,if such public servant knows <br /> or reasonably should know that such person has or is seeking to obtain contractual or other business <br /> or financial relationships with the public servant's agency. <br /> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br />
