She was awarded her Masters in Library Science in <br /> 2019. You stated that you were appointed to the Cameron Parish Library Board in December of <br /> 2011. Jolie is currently a part time employee in the Grand Lake branch library. There are six <br /> separate branch libraries in the Cameron Parish Library System. Each library branch has a full <br /> time librarian. The Head Librarian is over all six branch libraries. You stated that you are willing <br /> to recuse yourself from participation in the selection process for the new Head Librarian and if <br /> necessary you are willing to resign from the Library Board to allow your daughter to pursue her <br /> dreams of being Head Librarian. <br /> LAW <br /> La. R.S. 42:1119A provides that no member of the immediate family of an agency head shall be <br /> employed in his agency. <br /> La.R.S.42:1119C(2)provides a limited exception to the general nepotism prohibition and allows <br /> the continued employment and normal promotional advancement of a public employee when a <br /> member of the public employee's immediate family becomes the agency head of the public <br /> employee's agency, provided that such public employee has been employed in the agency for a <br /> period of at least one year prior to the member of the public employee's immediate family <br /> becoming the agency head. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1102(3) defines "agency head" to mean the chief executive or administrative officer <br /> of an agency or any member of a board or commission who exercises supervision over the agency. <br /> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br />
