Definitions Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise,the following words and terms,when used in this Chapter, shall have the follawing meanings: (2)(a){vi)defines"a�"forpublic servants ofpolitical subdivisions,it sha�l mean the agency in which the public servant sexves, except that for members of any governing authority and for the elec�ed or appointed chief executive of a goverzunental entity, it shall mPan the governrnental entity. Public servants of political subdivisions shall include, but shall not be limited to, elected officials ay3d public employees of municipalities, parishes, and otl�er politieal subdivisions; sheriffs and their employees; district attoxneys and their employees; coxoners and their employees; and clerks of col,u-t and their employees. to mean a department, office,division,agency,commission,baard,committee,or other organizational unit of a�overnmental entity. (3}def nes"a�encv head"ta mean the ehief executive or administrative afficer oF an agency or any member of a board ar cornmissiora who exercises supervision over the agency. (11)defines" overnin authorit "to mean the body which exercises fihe legislative fiinctions �f a political subdivision. (12} "�overnmental entity" means the state or any political subdivision which employs the public employee or err�ploy�d the former public employee or to which the elected official is elected, as the case may be. (13) deFines"immediate farnilv" as the term relates to a public servant to mean his children, the spouses�f his children, his brothers and their spauses, his sisters a�ic1 their spauses, k�is parents, his spause, and the parents of his spouse, (18) defines"pubiic employee"ta mean anyane, whether compensated or not, who is (i) an administrative officer or official of a gavernrnental entity who is not filling an elective office. {ii} appainted by any elected off cial when acting in an ofticial capacity, and the appointrnent is to a post or position wherein the appointee is to serve the governmental entity or an agency thereof,either as a member of an agency, or as an employee thereof. (iii) engaged in the performance of a governrnental t=unction, (iv) under the supervision or auihority of an elected oiiicial or another enraployee of the governmental entity. (19) defines "public servant" to mean a public eznployee or an elected official.
