R.S. 33:404(A)(3), such hiring was subject to approval of the Board of <br /> Alderrnen of the Town. <br /> 10. <br /> At the August 5, 2021 meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town,prior to any vote, a <br /> pri�ate citizen; Doris White, made a public comment that the hiring of Mrs. Ford was not legally <br /> pennissible. Ir� response to Ms. White's statement, Mayor Hoof stated that he had researched the <br /> issue and that the hiring was allowed. <br /> 11. <br /> At the August 5, 2021 meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the Town, Mrs. Ford's hiring <br /> was approved by a majority vote. Mr. Ford abstained from such vote. Ms. Epps-Hoof, and Ms. <br /> `JV�iite voted affirmatively to approve Ms. Ford's hiring. <br /> 12. <br /> Tameka Ford was terminated as Town Clerk effective October 25, 2021. <br /> IV. <br /> PROVISIONS OF LAW: <br /> 13. <br /> Sectio�� 1119B of the Ethics Code provides no member of the immediate family of a <br /> rnernber of a.governing authority or the chief executive of a governmental entity shall be employed <br /> b.� th� governmental entity. Section 1119D of the Ethics Code provides that willful violation of <br /> 5�ctian 1119 of the Ethics Code shall subject the agency head,member of the governing authority, <br /> tr�e p�xblic e�n,�loyee having authority to hire and fire the employee, the immediate supervisor of <br />
