Ethics Board Docket No. 2024-395 <br /> Page 4 of 10 <br /> 6. <br /> Between 2020 through 2025, the Ascension Parish School Board paid Hughes Insurance <br /> Services, L.L.C. the following premiums on the insurance policies provided by Hughes Insurance <br /> Services, L.L.C. and commissions earned by Hughes Insurance Services, L.L.C.: <br /> Insurance Type Premiums Commissions <br /> a) Workers' Compensation $4,948,008.00 $544,280.90 <br /> b) Student Accident $957,616.10 $105,337.76 <br /> c) Property and Boiler&Machinery $2,387,328.38 $262,606.12 <br /> d) Flood $3,095,628.00 $340,519.08 <br /> 7. <br /> At the November 28, 2023 meeting,the Ascension Parish School Board passed a motion to <br /> appoint Hughes Insurance Services as the exclusive agent of record for the school board on all <br /> matters relating to properry coverage and boiler & machinery coverage. Mr. Duplechein recused <br /> himself from the vote on this matter. <br /> 8. <br /> On June 16, 2014, David Duplechein accepted a job as a full-time sales producer at Hughes <br /> Insurance Services, L.L.C. Mr. Duplechein sells home, auto, fire, and various other insurance <br /> products. <br /> 9. <br /> David Duplechein is paid a commission on the insurance polices he writes and the business <br /> he produces. The commissions are held in Hughes Insurance Services'Operating and Trust accounts <br />
