Ethics Board Docket No. 2024-584 <br /> Page 2 of 7 <br /> II. <br /> JURISDICTION <br /> 1. <br /> The BOE is an agency of the State of Louisiana domiciled in East Baton Rouge Parish, <br /> Louisiana. <br /> 2. <br /> The BOE is authorized to offer a Consent Opinion to Rodney Madere, Jr. by virtue of <br /> Section 1141 C(3)(fl of the Ethics Code. <br /> III. <br /> FINDINGS OF FACT <br /> 3. <br /> Rodney Madere Jr. was employed by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office from October <br /> 16, 1990, until he retired on February 16, 2024. <br /> 4. <br /> Rodney Madere, Jr. was employed as a Chief Deputy in the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's <br /> Office from April of 2023 to February, 2024. He reported directly to Sheriff Greg Champagne. <br /> 5. <br /> On or about January 1, 2019 to July 25, 2024, Chief Deputy Madere took and/or <br /> misappropriated property belonging to St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, of a value over <br /> $5,000.00 but less than $25,000.00. <br /> 6. <br /> On or about January 1, 2019 to July 25, 2024, Chief Deputy Madere knowingly received <br /> any payment or compensation, or knowingly permit his name to be carried on any employment <br />
