Advisory opinion that a retired bus driver of the Iberia Parish School Board would not be prohibited by La. R.S. 42:1119A within the Code of Governmental Ethics from being reemployed by the School Board while her daughter-in-law serves as an agency head and board member of the Iberia Parish School Board, since La. R.S. 42:1119C(5) allows for the reemployment of a retiree whose employment was allowed on the date of their retirement. The retiree was previously allowed to continue her employment with the School Board, since she had been employed for longer than a year prior to her daughter-in-law being elected to the Iberia Parish School Board.

Advisory opinion that the Code of Governmental Ethics would not prohibit a public servant who is a Louisiana Support Enforcement Association board member from soliciting any type of donation for door prizes from a person, provided that the person is not prohibited from providing a gift to the public servant pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1115. Additionally, there is no provision within the Code of Governmental Ethics that would prohibit a former public servant from soliciting any typr of donations for door prizes on the Associations behalf. Finally, the Code would not prohibit a public servant from accepting any type of door prize awarded via a random drawing, provided that the person donating the prize is not a prohibited source as per La. R.S. 42:1115.

Advisory opinion that the Code of Governmental Ethics would not prohibit doctors who serve as the medical director of the St. Mary Parish Drug Court or who provides medical services to St. Mary Parish employees and their dependents from being appointed as Deputy Coroners of St. Mary Parish. However, they would be prohibited from receiving compensation from any person who received services from them as Deputy Coroner and in which such services involve the operations or programs of the St. Mary Parish Coroner's Office. Additionally, they would be prohibited from providing services through St. Mary Parish Coroner's Office in which in any people listed in La. R.S. 42:1112 has a substantial economic interest.
