8. <br /> On August 29, 2016, Dulce Michelen began working for the St. John the Baptist Parish <br /> Public Library as its Business Manager. Ms. Michelen was a full-time employee of the Library. <br /> She resigned from her position on August 17, 2018. <br /> 9. <br /> Dulce Michelen was a full-time employee of the Library. As such, Ms. Michelen received <br /> paid annual and sick leave, medical insurance (health, dental, eye, and life), and retirement <br /> contributions. Dulce Michelen's initial annual salary was $40,605.18. Effective January 1, 2017, <br /> Ms.Michelen's salary was increased to$41,417.29 based on the Library's annual 2%cost of living <br /> raise. <br /> 10. <br /> As Business Manager,Dulce Michelen was not entitled to use the Library's credit cards to <br /> make personal purchases. Ms. Michelen, as Business Manager, was not entitled to use Library's <br /> bank accounts to mare personal purchases. <br /> 11. <br /> As Business Manager, Dulce Michelen was responsible for accounting and bookkeeping <br /> tasks. Ms. Michelen's accounting duties included the following: entering all payables, <br /> disbursements, and receipts into the QuickBooks accounting software ("QuickBooks"'), <br /> purchasing items for Library programs, and taking custody of any cash on the premises until <br /> deposited. In addition, her duties included ensuring accounting records were kept in accordance <br /> with Library policies and procedures, preparing and processing employee payroll, and tracking <br /> employees paid leave for vacation and illness. Ms. Michelen also drafted checks for approval, <br /> Page 3 of 11 <br />
