11. <br /> As a result of Jeffery Lirette's altering, fabricating and forging C1 forms, Mr. Lirette <br /> received $5,650.00 in HPD funds to which he was not duly entitled to receive. <br /> 12. <br /> In addition, on July 10, 2018, Mr. Lirette "checked out" $1,000.00 from the Evidence <br /> Section to use as a"loan"for his Narcotics Division's controlled buys. Mr. Lirette did not replace <br /> the $1,000.00 and no paperwork was provided to account for the use of the money. <br /> 13. <br /> Jeffery Lirette was arrested by the HPD on February 3, 2020 after turning himself into the <br /> HPD, On May 18,2020,a Bill of Information was filed with the Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Court, <br /> charging Jeffery Lirette with the following: <br /> 9 Malfeasance in office— 1 Count <br /> • Theft of more than $5,000.00 but less than$25,000.00-- 1 Count <br /> • Injuring Public Records--45 Counts <br /> • Forgery— 15 Counts <br /> 14. <br /> On December 14, 2020, Jeffery Lirette appeared before Judge George J. Larke, Jr. <br /> (Division "A") of the 32nd Judicial District Court and pled guilty to all 62 counts. The court <br /> accepted Mr. Lirette's plea under the Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure Article 893. <br /> On December 141,2020,Jeffery Lirette was sentenced to prison at hard labor... for a period <br /> of two(2)years,with credit for any time served...; and to pay a fine of$500.00 and costs of court, <br /> which sentence was suspended placing Mr. Lirette on supervised probation for a period of 18 <br /> months, subject to the following special conditions: (1)refrain from criminal conduct, (2)pay the <br /> fine and costs within six months, (3)report, in person, to the probation officer within 48 hours of <br /> Page 4 of 8 <br />
