S'T'ATE OF LOUISIANA <br /> DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW <br /> LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS * DOCKET NO. <br /> x <br /> IN THE MATTER OF <br /> x <br /> REGINALD MERCHANT x AGENCY TRACKING NO, 5122-003 <br /> REQUEST FOR HEARING <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics, in its capacity as the Supervisory Committee on Campaign <br /> Finance Disclosure, does hereby file this request for a hearing to be scheduled to consider the <br /> following: <br /> I. <br /> Reginald Merchant was til unsuccessful candidate for the office of Mayor of New Orleans <br /> in the November 13, 2021 election. <br /> II. <br /> The office of Mayor of New Orleans is a"Major"level office. La. R.S.18:1484(1)requires <br /> each candidate for a"Major" level office' to file certain campaign finance disclosure reports. <br /> III. <br /> La. R.S. 18:1495.4A provides that the candidate is responsible for the filing of campaign <br /> finance disclosure reports by the deadlines provided in the Campaign Finance Disclosure Act <br /> (CFDA). <br /> IV. <br /> La. R.S. 18:1505.1(A) provides that failure to submit the reports required by the CFDA <br /> shall constitute a violation of the CFDA. Failure to submit any such report within three days after <br /> 'La.R.S. 18:1483(11)defines"Major"office. <br /> Page 1 of 5 <br />
