F <br /> Ms. Long approved her personal receipt of$5,2 5 0.00 in student loan repayment assistance <br /> via direct deposit on May 11, 2022. <br /> 4. <br /> According to the office's payroll report and a summary from the March 9, 2023, Board <br /> meeting,Ills. Long received$5,250.00 for"tuition assistance,' which was included on her regular <br /> payroll check on May 13, 2022, for the May 1-31, 2022 pay period. <br /> . <br /> According to her contracts, the Board had the sole authority to increase the salary and/or <br /> other compensation payable to Ms. Coag. Ms. Dong could not -ease funds from any source to <br /> supplement her Board-approved salary. Her contracts also ,stated that the "district defender is net <br /> and Will not be entitled to any of the benefits when the Board.makes or may make available to its <br /> employees, such as group insurance, retirement bencfits, sick and/or annual leave,-" <br /> 6. <br /> According to the public Defender's Office payroll report and financial reports, the <br /> following employees received student loan tuition assistance on their regular payroll checks via. <br /> direct deposit: <br /> Michelle Charles - $5,250.00 <br /> Michelle Charles - $435.00 <br /> Jasmaxne Barthelemy - $3,540.00 <br /> Avery Tiley - $1,579.50 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
