Advisory Opinion whereby the Code of Governmental Ethics would not prohibit Dr. Lauren Rasmussen from being appointed by the Governor to the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists even though she served as "pro-tem" member within two years, since she would not be accepting an appointment from LSBEP, but an appointment by the Governor.

CONCLUSION
The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you, that based on the facts presented, Section
1121A(2)of the Code of Governmental Ethics does not prohibit the Governor from appointing Dr.
Rasmussen to serve as a member of the LSBEP even though she served as "pro-tem" member
within the last two years. While Dr. Rasmussen would be prohibited from accepting an
appointment from LSBEP, she is being appointed by the Governor and not the LSBEP.
This advisory opinion is based solely on the facts as set forth herein. Changes to the facts presented
may result in a different application of the provisions of the Code of Ethics. The Board issues no
opinion as to past conduct or laws other than Code of Governmental Ethics. If you have any
questions, please contact me at(225) 219-5600 or(800) 842-6630.
Sincerely,
LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS
Suzanne Quinlan Mooney
For the Board
