Advisory Opinion whereby the Code of Governmental Ethics would prohibit Kahn's Codes and Standards, Kenneth Conerly, Jr., and Mario Anderson, from conducting mechanical and gas inspections for third-parties that will involve the City of New Orleans and in which they participated while employed with the Safety and Permits Division of the City of New Orleans.

Conerly,Jr. <br /> Ethics Board Docket No. 2021-105 <br /> May 10, 2021 <br /> Page 3 <br /> performed building or ele trical inspections, these types of inspections would not be prohibited <br /> during the two year period. <br /> Further,as Mr.Anderson i still employed with the City of New Orleans,the Board concluded,and <br /> instructed me to inform yo),that Section 1111 C(2)(d)of the Code of Governmental Ethics would <br /> prohibit Kahn's Codes ani, Standards,LLC, you,and Mr.Anderson from providing compensated <br /> services to or for any pers 1 n that has or seeks to have or has a business relationship with or is <br /> regulated by the Property anagement Department while Mr.Anderson is employed with the City <br /> of New Orleans in the Property Management Department. <br /> Also, as Mr. Anderson is still employed with the City of New Orleans, the Board concluded, and <br /> instructed me to inform you,that Section 1113A would prohibit Mr.Anderson and/or his company <br /> Kahn's Code and Standards, LLC from entering into transactions under the supervision or <br /> jurisdiction of his agency, a Property Management Department. <br /> Finally, the Board conclu ed, and instructed me to inform you that Section 1111E(1)(a) would <br /> prohibit both Mr. Anderson and Kahn's Code and Standards from assisting any third-parties in <br /> connection with a transaction or in connection in an appearance with a transaction with the Property <br /> Management Department while Mr. Anderson is employed with the Property Management <br /> Department for the City of New Orleans. <br /> This advisory opinion is Based solely on the facts as set forth herein. Changes to the facts as <br /> presented may result in a different application of the provisions of the Code of Ethics. The Board <br /> issues no opinion as to past conduct or as to laws other than the Code of Governmental Ethics.
