ANALYSIS
To the extent your duties with The Haven would be unrelated to your duties as an employee of the
St.Tammany Parish Coroner's Office,there would be no violation of La.R.S.42:1111A or La.R.S.
42:1111C(1)(a). Also, to the extent that The Haven is not seeking to obtain contractual or other
business or financial relationships with the St. Tammany Parish Coroner's Office, there would be
no violation of La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d).
CONCLUSION
The Board concluded, and instructed me to inform you, that the Code of Governmental Ethics would
permit you to be employed by The Haven to provide the above-referenced duties, as long as The
Haven does not seek to obtain contractual or other business or financial relationships with the St.
Tammany Parish Coroner's Office.
This advisory opinion is based solely on the facts as set forth herein. Changes to the facts as
presented may result in a different application of the provisions of the Code of Ethics. The Board
issues no opinion as to past conduct or as to laws other than the Code of Governmental Ethics.
