LOUISIANA BOARD OF ETHICS <br /> IN THE MATTER CONSENT ORDER NO. 2019-1249 <br /> OF <br /> KEVIN M. BERKEN <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics("the Board"), after conducting a confidential investigation <br /> pursuant to La. R.S. 42:1141, finds the following in regard to Kevin M. Berken. <br /> 1. <br /> Kevin M. Berken was a candidate for State Senator,25th Senatorial District,Acadia Parish, <br /> in the October 12, 2019 election. <br /> 2. <br /> On September 12, 2019, Kevin M. Berken filed a 30-P campaign finance disclosure report <br /> which disclosed eight (8) separate expenditures totaling ten thousand four hundred eight dollars <br /> and ninety-eight cents($10,408.98)made to Next Chapter Consulting for the purpose of campaign <br /> consulting and campaign literature. <br /> 3. <br /> On October 5, 2019, Kevin M. Berken filed a 10-P campaign finance disclosure report <br /> which disclosed two (2) separate expenditures totaling four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) made to <br /> Next Chapter Consulting for the purpose of campaign consulting. <br /> 4. <br /> Adam Berken is the biological son of Kevin M. Berken. <br /> 5. <br /> Adam Berken is an owner of one-third (1/3) of the membership interests of Next Chapter <br /> Consulting. <br />
