Hurley, Sr. maintained the call records and authorized payments to his wife,Karla <br /> Sumrall, for reimbursement for her response to emergency calls. <br /> 11. <br /> La.R.S.42:1111A provides that no public servant shall receive anything of economic value, <br /> other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled,for <br /> the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) provides that no public servant shall participate in a transaction <br /> involving the governmental entity in which,to his actual knowledge,any member of his immediate <br /> family has a substantial economic interest. <br /> 12. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1153 provides with respect to penalties: <br /> B. Upon finding that any public employee or other person has violated any <br /> provision of any law within the jurisdiction of the board . . ., the board by a <br /> majority vote of the membership,may remove,suspend,or order a reduction <br /> in pay,or demotion of the public employee or other person,or impose a fine <br /> of not more than ten thousand dollars, or both. <br /> La. R.S. 42:1155 provides with respect to penalties: <br /> A.
