Parish Attorney <br /> Terrebonne Parish <br /> 4752 Hwy. 311, Suite 114 <br /> Houma, LA 70124 <br /> RE: Docket No. 2020-242 <br /> Dear Ms. Neil: <br /> The Louisiana Board of Ethics,at its July 2,2020 meeting, considered your request for an advisory <br /> opinion as to whether the Code of Governmental Ethics would prohibit certain employees with the <br /> Terrebonne Parish Parks and Recreation Department from being employed based on their <br /> relationship with one another, and/or whether a Disqualification Plan would be required. <br /> FACTS PROVIDED <br /> The Terrebonne Parish Parks and Recreation Department employs the following individuals who are <br /> related to one another: <br /> 1. BERTIE VERRETT is employed as a Gym Supervisor at Dularge <br /> Gym No. 2. Ms. Verrett is the mother of RAVEN VERRETT and <br /> AMBER VERRETTwho are employed as Scorekeepers. In order to <br /> prevent any participation by Ms. Verrett in the supervision of her <br /> children, Raven and Amber Verrett are only assigned to work gyms <br /> other than Dularge Gym No. 2. <br /> 2. ISAAC ALDRIDGE,II is employed as a Gym Supervisor at Gibson <br /> Gym. Mr. Aldridge is the father of ISAAC ALDRIDGE, III and <br /> I'SAVIER ALDRIDGE who are employed as an Umpire and <br /> Scorekeeper respectively. In order to prevent any participation by <br /> Isaac Aldridge, II in the supervision of his children, Isaac Aldridge, <br /> III and I'Savier Aldridge are only assigned to work gyms other than <br /> Gibson Gym. Furthermore, neither brother supervises the other. <br /> 3. GARY BEESON is employed as a Boys Sports Coordinator. Mr. <br /> Beeson is the father of KIMBERLY BEESON who is employed as <br /> a Field Director at Broadmoor Field. Both Gary Beeson and <br /> Kimberly Beeson are supervised by Chris Singleton and Gary <br /> Harding. SARAH LEGNON is employed as a Scorekeeper and is <br /> the daughter of Kimberly Beeson.
